How it works

Pre-notification
You send us the commercial invoice, packing list and container number as soon as the container leaves the port.

Arrival and clearance
The truck arrives with the transport documents. We file the import declaration in ATLAS before unloading.

Import clearance
Declaration in ATLAS, customs value and rate by tariff heading, transfer into the tax warehouse. We advance duty and import VAT.

Putaway
From here like any other pallet: location, ledger, portal. Alcohol duty stays suspended.

Frequently asked questions
Does the container have to come to Solingen or can it stay at the port?
The goods must physically arrive with us because a tax warehouse is a place. Your forwarder brings the container from the port to Solingen, and import clearance happens here at the warehouse.
Who pays the customs duty?
We advance customs duty and import VAT and invoice them to you. Alcohol duty does not arise while the goods are in the tax warehouse.
What if the container arrives before the paperwork does?
Without the commercial invoice and packing list we cannot file the import declaration. Send us the documents as soon as the container leaves the port, so clearance is ready when the truck arrives.
